Is This On Your Resume? It Should Be!

One of the most overlooked ways in using a resume to sell yourself is failing to identify the companies for which you have worked.

"Identify the companies?" You say. "But I do! How could I write my resume and not name the companies?"

Right. But unless you worked for UPS or Macy`s or FedEx, the company name indicates nothing. The majority of job seekers neglect to describe their employers. Even professional rsum writers often fail to provide company descriptions in rewrites for their clients. And the only thing this accomplishes is to leave the interviewer with a big question mark about the context of your skills.

If you are working in a highly specialized, niche industry, perhaps each company knows the others. If youre searching locally, a prospective employer may be aware of the company you are leaving. But dont assume so. Your objective is to give an idea of the size of the company, what it does, and who itsmarket is so that the hiring company can place your experience in relation to what they are looking for.

Failure to do this isnt likely to get you screened out, as some other resume sins will. But part of the science of finding your perfect job is to stand out from the crowd. In the multitudes of job seekers who dont provide a clue about their employers, a prospective employer will appreciate and remember - that you did.

And if he chooses to bring you in, he wont have to clarify the context of your previous experience - possibly finishing the interview on a courtesy basis only. A company description should read something like any of these examples:

  • Publicly held company with 400+ branch offices nationwide selling retail home furnishings
  • Twelve-person consulting company serving primarily the high-end restaurant market within a 100-mile radius
  • Leading manufacturer/distributor of educational toys for children with annual revenues of $1.5m

Unfortunately, inertia is often a big factor in resume screening. Contrary to popular opinion, every word of every resume is not read. First the resume gets a glance. Then it gets a skim. Then it gets a more detailed read. But every step is contingent upon the reader finding a reason to go the next one. Heres the truth: most hiring authorities screen out rather than screen in. Especially if theyre overwhelmed with resume responses.

    This means:
  • if your resume looks like it needs to be deciphered youre out
  • if they dont see what they are looking for in a glance - youre out
  • if they dont have all the information they need to know youre iffy

If youre seeking something different, for instance a change from small to large or public to private, place the corresponding adjective in your objective, and briefly explain your reason in your cover letter. Eliminate the objection and pessimism before it arises by explaining the difference between where youve been and what youre looking for and putting it in a positive light, one thats advantageous to the company, if you can.

Describing your previous employers is only one of easily a dozen ways to ensure your resume is read. Your resume is a screening tool, not only for the company, but for you. Its the point man on your job search. It needs to screen you in for the opportunities you are targeting, and it needs to do that by being read, not ignored. If you want to get in the door, your resume is the only way to open it.

How To Apply The Law Of Attraction

Choosing a Canada Weight Loss Spa

A Canada weight loss spa can either inspire or discourage you to lose weight so you have to choose one wisely. In choosing a Canada weight loss spa, you need to consider a few things.

Location
Determine where a Canada weight loss spa is located. Is it conveniently near your home, office or both? Make sure it is near you so you won't experience any hassle getting there. A 15 to 20-minute travel time or less is ideal but consider looking for another one if you need to spare around 45 minutes to an hour just getting there.

The price
Another important factor to consider in choosing a Canada weight loss spa is the price that you have to pay to avail of their services. A weight loss spa that charges high fees does not necessarily mean that it is better. Apparently, there are a lot of Canadian weight loss spas that have very affordable fees but their facilities and services are more useful for you compared to more expensive ones.

Signing contracts
Read everything prior to signing up for a weight loss spa. Make sure that you are paying for the right services that can truly benefit you. If the contract is stating that you can only use a limited number of equipment even though you are paying for a full membership, chances are, you are being fooled. Remember that if it is not worth spending your hard earned cash to something you can never use, then do not do it.

Never settle
Keep in mind that you must never settle for services that you believe you can never benefit from. Also, never settle for a spa that has limited services to offer for you. There are a lot of weight loss spas that can give you better and more services that can prove to be of more value for your money.

Ask questions
If you know someone who is already a member of a weight loss spa, ask that person for quotes on services and the prices. Otherwise, you can call up a weight loss spa or visit the one nearest to you. That way, you can have an idea on what you can expect from each weight loss spas you are thinking of joining in.

Pubic Hair Removal - Tips When Waxing

Pubic hair removal is now a matter of concern for both men and women. For hygiene reasons alone many individuals choose to remove unwanted body hair in the pubic area, hence, the search for the best pubic hair removal method.

Waxing is one very popular method. It is inexpensive, it can be done from home, and the results last for some weeks in many cases.

Use these tips to get the best results if you choose to use waxing as your pubic hair removal method of choice:

  • Avoid showering and making the hair wet prior to waxing. Hair absorbs the water making it soft and less likely to adhere well to the wax. Tough hair is easier to pull off.
  • Be sure to test a small area of skin first to make sure there is no acute sensitivity or allergic reaction to pubic hair removal using waxing.
  • Hair should be at least 1/8 inch long. If it isn't wait until it reaches this length.
  • Be sure to wash the skin thoroughly and dry it well beforehand to remove any lotions or oils which may prevent the wax from adhering closely to the skin.
  • Heat the wax carefully so as not to overheat and thus burn the skin when applying. Test on a small area first.
  • The consistency should be soft rather than runny.
  • If pain and discomfort is a main concern use a pain reducing gel or cream available from pharmacists. These solutions should be applied 30 to 60 minutes before waxing so the skin is numbed beforehand.
  • Apply a thin layer of wax in the direction of the hair growth and peel back with a rapid movement close to the skin.
  • Do not pull up or out, rather pull back.
  • Clean the skin with a warm moist towel afterwards to remove excess wax.
  • Avoid wearing tight clothing over freshly waxed areas to minimize the risk of irritation and ingrown hairs. 24-48 hours after pubic hair removal waxing, exfoliate the skin (with a Loofa sponge for example) to prevent the dead skin from accumulating and causing hair to become ingrown.

Best Positions When Performing A Waxing Pubic Hair Removal Session:

  • Option 1: Sit in a chair with your feet up above your waist and legs spread apart.
  • Option 2. Sit with one leg propped above your waist and the other leg resting on the floor.
  • Option 3. Lie on your back with legs wide apart and raised in the air so that all the waxable areas are spread taut.
  • Option 4. Lie on your side with the bottom leg straight out and the top leg bent at the knee and tucked behind the straight leg.
  • Option 5. Bend the knees and keep the legs wide apart so the genital areas are easy to work on. Put a mirror on the ground if necessary for better control.

Many persons prefer to have the waxing pubic hair removal procedure carried out at a salon by a professional. See the resource box for a helpful article on what to expect from what is called Brazilian Waxing.

Law of Attraction - Love's Form

Love's form is energy. It's one of the life-generating frequencies that move swiftly and freely through time and space. The Universe is alive with energy. Light, sound, movement - all of life takes part in an ongoing dance of energy at play. From the motion of the planets to the smallest encounters between passing strangers, everything contributes to the constant flow and exchange of personal and Universal energy.

Contrary to what most people believe, love is so much more than a feeling or a condition of a relationship. Love is energy. In fact, it's the greatest and most creative power in the cosmos. It may not be as immediately noticeable as the energy of sound, or as easily measurable as that of light, but love is as vital and dynamic as any energy that we're capable of experiencing.

In ancient Greek mythology, Eros, the God of Love, was originally perceived as a cosmic force-more energy than entity-whose job it was to organize and direct all of the elements of the Universe in order to create harmony out of chaos. Only later did this force become personified in the figure of the arrow-shooting angel who directed the dreams of human desire.

This organizing force is an apt representation, for it's love that's responsible for the laws that bring order to all of life. In fact, it's the energy of original love-Divine Love-that's responsible for life itself. It's the creative source of everything we see. Every person, being, or object in the Universe is an expression of the power and creativity of Divine Love.

This remarkable power is an irrepressible river of energy that continually flows through the Universe. You are a part of that river. You have that Divine power radiating to and through you. It's what you do with this power that determines your destiny in relationships-and in everything else.

You can connect with this powerful river of energy through your motivation or intention. Ultimately, you must align your own intention with that of love, in order to ride that wonderful tide of amour. If you don't, you'll continue to find yourself struggling against the current.

This is what happened to Psyche, Eros's lover, when she allowed her love to turn to fear. Theirs is a classic love story, full of passion, jealousy, and suspicion; yet today, it remains an accurate representation of the patterns and the power behind the Universal Laws of love.

The World According To Max The Cat

Max jumped on my chest as soon as the first rays of sunlight streamed through the blinds.

Are you awake? he asked, licking his paw with infinite fastidiousness.

I am now, I said. Hey, did you just say something?

No, I just thought something.

You mean we're in telepathic contact? I asked, not sure whether I was still asleep.

Why do you think we were so popular with the Egyptian priests," he asked smugly.

Why didn't you talk before, I asked.

Believe me, he said, It wasn't easy, but I didn't think you were ready before.

What makes you think I'm ready now?

He languidly ripped his claws into the bed covers and ripped off some cotton threads before stretching his elegant white limbs. Then he eyed me thoughtfully with his big golden eyes.

You haven't fed me any cat food in the past few days, he said. In fact, I'm not sure where you got the idea that a cat can thrive on oatmeal.

Well, you know I can't even pay the rent. Who knows what's going to happen to us?

That's why I thought it time you got wise about the Diamond Sutra.

Is that some kind of Eastern scripture?

No, I'm talking about the mystical sutra, the emerald green subtle energy field that's shaped like a diamond and sits in your heart.

Hunh?

Quiet! said Max, clubbing my nose with his padded pink paw, claws sheathed.

I'm listening, I said.

The diamond sutra has four edges, each edge signifying a divine attribute. The first edge is called Abundance, the second Health, the third Success, and the fourth, Relationship. All cats worth their weight in whiskers have these circuits running in harmony, and so, too, should any half-awake human being. All you have to do is to replace wanting with having. Get the feeling-tones right and your world will be right."

He eyed me sharply, sizing me up, wondering, no doubt, if I could meet even his most compromised standards. Now I've noticed that you appear to need to activate each of these energetic systems into your life. You've disrupted the circuit with your stinking-thinking.

Guilty, I said, smiling sheepishly.

He gave me the look; then after clipping some misaligned hair on his tail with his teeth, he resumed his discourse.

Flowing from one point to the next is the white light of infinite connectivity, the stream of life and manifestation, the river of consciousness itself.

The only thing stopping this flow is YOU! In particular, all these absurd thoughts of scarcity that keeping running through your head. Look, if you think of scarcity, that's what you're going to get. You draw it to you with the same felicity with which a dumb dog attracts fleas by rolling in the grass.

Abundance is your natural birthright. If you're not experiencing it, then you've got a belief system that says you can't get it or you don't deserve it.

Similarly, the cells of your body respond to your thoughts, and if they're not happy cells, you're thinking distressing thoughts and eating garbage. Hence, poor health.

Come again, I said.

Once again, he gave me the look, then resumed his exposition, deciding to ignore the interruption.

Success, of course, is doing things your way...basically doing what you want, the way you want, when you want. Look at me. Pay attention. Learn something. I live in a world of possibility. I entertain empowering beliefs. I have passion and motivation for positive change.

And what about relationships? I asked.

Tickle my ears, he said.

I did, and he purred.

10 Things You Can DO Today to Improve Your Life Wherever You Are!

Here are 10 things that you can do to improve your life TODAY!

1. Be intentional with your thoughts. Whether you are in the middle of planning your move or have been an expatriate for years, your life is a continuous creation and your thoughts are a key part of what creates your life. How your thoughts make you feel is your personal radar letting you know whether your thoughts are serving you and your life or not. If your thoughts make you feel good, GREAT! If your thoughts make you feel bad, make a concerted effort to shift your thought. This is bigger than "positive thinking" this is about taking control of our unique human endowment -- our ability to control our thoughts.

2. Be honest with yourself and others. I really believe that it takes small bits of our soul to not speak our truth. Even white lies can wear away at your character. More important than your relationship with others is your relationship with yourself. There is consistent pressure to "look good" or "be nice" when leaving old friends and when making new friends. True friends appreciate honesty -- not simple politeness. Being honest is one of the best ways to honor yourself. Strive for self-integrity.

3. Be kind to yourself and others. Like honesty, kindness and compassion feed the soul. In the high pressure situation of relocating or in the throws of adjustment, you can find yourself on edge and much less patient with others. When you find yourself being really tough on yourself think about how you would be and what you would say to your best friend. When you are being really tough with someone else (most often our nearest and dearest) think about whether your best friend would still be your best friend if you treated them this way.

4. Relax. I know it is easier said than done but worrying and stressing gets us nowhere fast. When you find yourself full of anxiety and frustration about something (the unknowns of the new location, leaving familiar people and places) remind yourself that life is an adventure and that it takes a certain kind of person to be willing to do what you are doing. Look forward to creating your new life.

5. Be thankful. And I don't mean a quick "thanks". I mean really look around the room you are in, the company you keep, the sky, your health, your children, your dog, whatever it is that you can genuinely be thankful for and let yourself really feel that appreciation. When you are full of appreciation, your perspective on life shifts for the better and helps us breath in our experiences and truly live rather than rushing through life to get things done.

6. Don't over-schedule yourself. Whether it is your way of being helpful or efficient, the nature of what your professional or personal life demands, saying yes to too many things is saying a big fat NO to your well-being. Don't bother yourself or others with long explanations, simply say "I can't" when you can't. Honor the preciousness of your time and only do the things you really WANT to do. This includes our goodbye dinners -- have a big gathering instead!

7. Tell the people you love that you love them. Very similar to being thankful and being honest, letting people you care for know that you love them feeds their soul and yours. Don't ever assume that they "know" you do. Letting people know how you feel WILL matter in a week, month and year from now. This will also deepen the relationships you are physically leaving ensuring the possibility to not only continue them but improve them while you are away.

8. Be quiet. As little as 15 minutes a day of quiet time can make a profound difference in the quality of your life. Don't be afraid, it doesn't have to be meditation (and it can be) but turn off your cell phone, close your door, no t.v., no radio, get comfortable, close your eyes, and enjoy your own company. Use this time to focus on what you really want and how you want your life to be.

9. Take care of yourself. I know that you know what to do to take care of yourself. It is what your grandmother and your mother taught you -- eat breakfast, drink water, exercise, and get plenty of rest but so many of us say I'll start tomorrow, or on Monday; or after I get settled. There are thousands of excuses AND there are NONE. We all have the same number of minutes and hours in the day and the only separation between people who take good care of themselves and people who don't is a decision.

10. Get a Life Coach. Seriously! If you are interested in how to make your okay life phenomenal, then get a life coach. There are coaches who specialize in supporting you through your move and in creating the life you desire in your new country.

These are just a few things you can do to improve your life. If you are thinking, "that sounds great but who has time, or let's get real here -- I have to make a living and I have a life -- I am engaged in an international move!!" then you are not making time for things that really matter. I can show you how to have your daily actions reflect your deepest values and desires. And if you are thinking: I know all this and have tried but it just doesn't stick, then you are putting yourself and your life on the back burner while you pack and put out fires -- where is your joy? Where is your passion? You deserve to have it all and it is up to you to create it.

Professional Life and Business Coach Pamela Mattsson is an advocate for living a passionate and balanced life. She is deeply committed to her clients law of success and happiness and firmly believes that the only thing keeping people from their utmost potential is self-limiting thinking and daily actions that are incongruent with their dreams and values. Ode to Opening of a Chicharron Sandwich & Disappearing Life (Two Poems)

Ode: to Opening of a Chicharron Sandwich

Memo: for those who do not know, Chicharron is pork at its best in Peru; it is cooked in hot oils, and often put in-between two pieces bread and this, called a Chicharron Sandwich.

We think of Alexander the Great
As we open up a Chicharron Sandwich
Looking down, we see
Two bodies slapped on top of something
In-between- chicharron;
A brainstorm begins
(still looking down)
Miles of thoughts pass us
Like a roadrunner...!
What is in-between-peeks at us
(like a mouse to a nearby cat).
Your eyes go around the sandwich,
as if you are spying:
Likened to a mammoth toad;
Then they melt into the entire sandwich
(drowning your previous brainstorm).
Toads, mice and brainstorms
everything drowning...!
In the attic of our minds
We murder the sandwich now,
Like a great prince, at a feast!...

Disappearing Life

When will you speak up?
When images of death appear?
When your grave is filled
(when it is too late, that is)?
When you look back in life
do you say:
"A worn-out life?"
"A life misplaced?"
"A life ruined?"
When it is too late, it is too late:
it will be the time for silence
(no escape)!

Note: We have a right to die, but not simple because our life is worn-out, in saying that I mean, we do not have a right to take this life, this is different. Suffering is part of life. Life is sacred and given to us by God. He did not give it to the angels, or to other beings, not like he gave it to us, for that reason alone, life should be sustained by medical measures if possible. We need to remember there is a difference between the postponement of life, to death and prolongation of life. My mother was dying in the hospital, a normal old aged death, and a death inevitable: we allowed the natural process to run its course.
